The 5 Rhythms® is a dynamic moving meditation shaped and created by Gabrielle Roth. Open to all, whatever your background age or physical ability, it’s essentially a practice to bring us into balance, into a sense of alive presence and stillness.
The 5 Rhythms® rise to a crescendo and settle to a point of stillness. A beautifully organic practice inviting us to explore how it is to be here in our human bodies by moving through 5 archetypal landscapes of energies and ways of being.
I trained as a 5R teacher in 2004 after several intense years of dancing and moving my heart out. It’s a beautiful map. I taught it for years all through Europe and further afield. It has a constant influence on all of the movement work I facilitate these days.

“Do you have the discipline to be a free spirit?”

I am a founding member of Open Floor International. A creative collaboration of seasoned movement teachers with a culmination of many years of experience, facilitation and teaching in many types of movement , therapeutic and artistic practices.
Across the world our teachers offer a wide range of classes and workshops dealing with all kinds of topics and themes through the lens of conscious movement. We are also a training organisation enabling people to learn how to use movement as a means of supporting others in classes and workshops all over the world.
At it’s base we use a map of ten core dynamic movement resources to explore how it is to be here in a living body. Through the map we can look at the workings of our mind, our personal histories, our creativity, emotional landscape and sexuality. Our life force, shadows and light. Our capacity for healing.
We explore how it is to be in community, deepen into our own sense of self and keep expanding an awareness of who we are in these bodies, hearts, minds, souls and spirits of ours.
I am a faculty member offering classes, workshops, supervision and mentoring in the Open Floor curriculum. There is so much to read, explore and be inspired by on our website www.openfloor.org
