Bone Quiet, The Netherlands, Nov 20 – 22
November 20 @ 7:00 pm ā November 22 @ 4:00 pm
Bring in the Bones
A BISO ā Body in Soul ā workshop.
Throughout this weekend we will dance together, journey together, rest together in the darkest days of the year.
Catch a still point. Catch electricity in the making, as our bones invite us to drop down and lean back.
Diving into the wisdom of our bones through dance and journeying we will have an opportunity to listen to the stories our bones may have for us, their wisdom, their holding of us down through the ages.
Amongst other invitations and explorations, we will dance and travel down and along our own vertical and horizontal midlines, from crown of head to soles of feet and from fingertip to fingertip along the reach of our arm span. Listening to the shapes and stories of our moving bodies, our amazing skeletons.
All are welcome, you just need a willingness to move, be curious and enjoy dancing and travelling in good company with carefully built soundscapes for your explorations.
Iām looking forward to travelling into the winter with you!
BISO is a conscious movement map, full of movement portals, curiosity, rhythm space. A touch of ritual. A lot of creative expression.
Walking the Bones
without you
Snake-stone shale, under
moss spattered splotches, patterning time.
Birch light crystals; dancing
crunching, forming sternum-bells.
Tender smells of sheep and peat
tapping shards of stories.
My sternum-floating bone; heart shield.
It lets the outside in.
with you,
a time before
Breast high in bee-hum.
Soul deep in goat song.
Wood-a-tat-a-pecker
drills through the oaks
echoing lines of bird talk.
The ferns reach green from the
burnt bone earth, meeting us
life lines of hope.
